Receiving Results!

This week we finally got our Junior Cert results! It was a very long wait but the day eventually arrived after months of studying, homework and everything in-between. I was extremely nervous about getting my results back and I had a knot in my stomach right up until the moment I was handed the brown envelope. Overall I was really happy with my results!

After I received my results I went out to get pizza with my friends and we then had a really good night in! I was really tired in school the next day but I think it was worth it!

Yesterday in Home Ec we made chocolate chip cookies. This was our first time to bake this year and I really enjoyed it. Our cookies were delicious and I'm really looking forward to baking again soon!

On Monday the TYs are going on a trip to Carlingford adventure centre and we will be staying here overnight. I am really excited for it as I have heard it is an amazing trip!

Thanks for reading,
Hannah.

Week one Workshops!

Summer is over and school has begun. My first week in transition year is nearing its close. The first week has been busy and many different projects have been assigned. Fortunately, I was put in a class with all of my friends and I couldn't be happier with my class. The TY classes were named after Disney princesses, Ariel, Belle, and Aurora. I am in class Ariel. There is a lot of people in my class I don't know but I am looking forward to getting to know everyone throughout this year.

On Wednesday we had workshops in the school. There were three different workshops, Etiquette, Positive Parties, and First Aid. The Etiquette workshop taught us how to walk properly, the different body shapes, hand and nail care, and we also were shown how to walk in heels! There was a red carpet rolled out for us to walk on in our heels and I thought this was a great idea and very enjoyable. The Positive Parties workshop was all about staying positive and trying to turn bad situations into good situations. We did many little activities including laughing yoga, the 'pants game', and the hokey pokey. I found the First Aid workshop to be very interesting. I think the things we learnt will be very useful in the future. We were taught many useful skills including how to put someone in the recovery position, how to give CPR, and how to react if someone is experiencing an epileptic seizure.
The etiquette workshop was my favourite but I really enjoyed the day.
